Dealing and respecting timing

Pharmaceutical companies often have the issue of dealing with procedures that need to be carried out within predefined timing. In the case of the analysis of vaccine samples, if each phase of the procedure were not carried out in that determined and established moment, one could risk the destruction of the bacteria and thus compromise the validity of the analysis. At that point the entire procedure has to be redone by the boss.

Process Control monitors  the phases dealing with the deposit and with the withdrawal of the bacteria samples, so as to make sure that all established timing is respected.

 

OBJECTIVE
Monitor the state of the bacteria samples which require a qualitative analysis within six hours from the initial deposit of the sample
PROBLEM
The bacteria samples have a long course to follow from the beginning of their creation to the analysis phase, across different environments and various passages. It is difficult to keep track of them when they are inside a company environment and to understand how long they have been waiting to be analyzed
SOLUTION
Through the use of proximity sensors the operator’s presence near the refrigerator can be detected, who, thanks to the use of wearable devices, activates the deposit or withdrawal procedure, and automatically sends a notification out to the other operators, informing them on the state and on the critical levels detected to a given sample

Process Control collects information of interest in real time and sends it to the operators involved in the procedure. Anyone can monitor the deposit and the withdrawal of the bacteria samples in the various areas and give updates relevant to critical levels linked to waiting time of each bacteria load, thus avoiding the destruction of the bacteria, and consequently a waste of economic resources.

This solution is able to give information on:

  • where a given bacteria sample is in any given moment
  • when the sample is deposited for the first time (in a specific environment)
  • when the sample is withdrawn and deposited for the second time (in another environment)
  • when the sample is withdrawn so as to be analyzed
BENEFITS
With real time monitoring of the entire life cycle of the bacteria load sample, and with the sending of reports of the above, it is easier to verify the presence of eventual obstacles or delays in the various phases and so determine the points where corrective strategies should be implemented.

Furthermore, thanks to notifications on levels of criticality in reference to waiting time of each bacteria load sample, the possibilities of the destruction of bacteria load inside the sample decrease, with a consequent saving in time and economic resources.
